My passion for cooking stems from early boyhood memories of sitting at the family kitchen table preparing fresh vegetables with my mother. Shelling peas, de-poding broad beans, cleaning carrots. Learning how to make a bechamel sauce. Picking gooseberries, blackberries and apples from our garden and transforming them into wonderful fruit treats.
These days, I find my enjoyment in making food which people love, because I love the food I cook with. Which is always the best produce I can source. Taste, smell, colour, texture, presentation and variety, all go in to the pot for balance and eating pleasure. Nothing makes me happier than being asked for the recipe for one of my dishes. In fact, this has happened often enough that I am now working on my own cook book. Happy eating!
