The standard retreat cuisine is based on a vegetarian, wheat, sugar and cow-dairy free, nourishing, yet purifying diet, using the freshest, most locally sourced produce and is organic where possible. The focus is seasonal cuisine – to enable the body to maintain a natural state of balance, nourishing it with what it needs at that time of year.
All of our chefs cook consciously, with intention, love and great care for both ingredient and presentation details.
Diets can be specifically vegan/macrobiotic/alkaline/raw, yet we find that most retreats, attracting private clients with different backgrounds and dietary needs benefit from the following options.
Teas. Provided with alternative to dairy milks such as rice, almond, soya and oat.
Fruits, nuts & chia pots. Fruit is provided for you to prepare as you wish. Chia porridge is made up in individual portions the night before and you can simply serve! And we recommend a warm porridge for the cooler seasons.
Pre-yoga bites served on a self help basis. Some teachers prefer not to serve additional fruit due to the sugar content.
Includes
Prepared by chef whilst preparing the brunch and comprises dips and crudités, rice cakes and other “snackable” items which can be kept in the fridge. Self-serve basis by teacher/group assistants.
3 key dishes:
Some teachers and Group Leaders wish to employ a retreat assistant as the “angel” who can prepare the pre-yoga bites, keep the kitchen space clear during the day, serve the afternoon snack, support the chef in prepping and clearing – and add those incredible touches – lighting candles, incense and all those details , which create that special atmosphere!
And whilst our chefs will leave the kitchen clean after they have finished brunch or dinner, they need to arrive to a clean space! We have found that this job can be quite time-consuming, so this is just an option for you. So you have the time to dedicate to your guests in your best possible space. Each teacher and group leader is different – and has their own vision, of course. Other teachers nominate “Karma yogis” each day to be this person.
Retreat angels FROM €15 per hour.
For a more experienced host FROM €20-25 per hour
REMINDER…
We estimate 2 – 3 litres per person per day – especially in the summer months. Mineral water for drinking has to be bought in for almost all houses / retreat villas in Ibiza, although some villas have their own water filter. The group can organise purchasing mineral water in local supermarkets themselves, or chefs can assist upon request.
